Sabrina Shannon helps leaders meet the challenges of dynamic, complex environments. With a clear understanding of their strengths to lead and the organization’s unique position, her clients hone leadership competencies, build skills, and execute to deliver results. Previously a healthcare executive, as well as a nurse, Sabrina is an experienced leadership and team performance coach. Her special interest and capability is helping organization’s see beyond their present state to take intentional, courageous steps toward a desired future.
Sabrina built her career from direct care to management to executive to executive coaching in 1998 and joined MEDI. Her work with MEDI is grounded in a structured approach of evidence-based research that provides customization necessary to leaders grow and excel. Sabrina has a strong track record for helping C-Suite clients strategically select and build their teams and serves as counsel in critical aspects of the talent acquisition and onboarding processes.
While her most prevalent work is at the executive level and with clinicians transitioning into health system leadership she also has a keen interest in women leadership. In 2014, Sabrina launched Advancing Women Leaders fortifying her presence among female leaders as she examines and speaks on provocative topics critical to advancing women leaders.
Her passion is to see leaders bigger and bolder than they imagine for themselves. Sabrina earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Howard University in Washington, DC, and a Master’s in Health Services Administration degree from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She is board certified as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and she is certified in leadership coaching through her training at The Wharton School of Executive Leadership and she completed the Women and Power Executive Program at The Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
